I know that Herndon Hooker is the developmental QB in waiting, but I keep worrying if the Lions could use a proven veteran in an emergency while their window for winning is open. Plus, adding a seasoned vet, if his head is on straight, might add something to helping develop Hooker and even Fromm.

The price is so low, for a QB that has such a great resume. He's also from MSU, so he's got ties to Michigan. There's also the factor that at 36 he's not as likely to be chosen for a starter role elsewhere, although there could be interest as a stop-gap starter in several cities.
