Sign Kirk Cousins?

Since Atlanta would be on the hook for $26.3 M of a $27.5 M salary in 2025, would signing Kirk Cousins as a back-up be a smart move? I know that Herndon Hooker is the developmental QB in waiting, but I keep worrying if the Lions could use a proven veteran in an emergency while their window for winning is open. Plus, adding a seasoned vet, if his head is on straight, might add something to helping develop Hooker and even Fromm.

The price is so low, for a QB that has such a great resume. He's also from MSU, so he's got ties to Michigan. There's also the factor that at 36 he's not as likely to be chosen for a starter role elsewhere, although there could be interest as a stop-gap starter in several cities.

The opportunity to win a Super Bowl ring is probably the biggest selling point about coming to Detroit. Of course, the overall appeal of Campbell and company might also be a plus. The final word of course is whether he has the right mind-set to meld into the team?

Should I stop worrying about an injury? Hmmmm, the Lions have had a fair share, so it isn't exactly easy to put it out of my mind. Lastly, I would say, Cousins is a very good QB and seems similar to Goff if many ways. If Goff got hurt, it would make me a whole lot less worried that the Lions had him and Hooker to go to.
